Paul Meade grew up in Durban on the east coast of South Africa. He spent every school holiday on his uncle’s dairy farm in Ixopo. He matriculated at Weston Agricultural College in Mooiriver in 1976. After two years in the army, he worked as a dairy farm manager in Southern Natal for fifteen years. In July 1995 he joined Groote Post Genetics (now World Wide Sires) as a breeding advisor and sales rep for Natal. A Holstein and Jersey cattle judge, his passions are cattle breeding, travel, game drives, watching movies, reading, listening to audio books, drinking beer with his mates, eating biltong and writing. He owns four dogs and one cat, and lives on a small holding in Southern Natal where he runs a small herd of pedigree Black Angus cattle.
